Carmen Tyler
Carmen was raised in Pittsburgh, Pa, finishing undergrad in North Carolina and worked at a boarding school in Washington DC where she also completed cosmetology school. Carmen's appreciation for healthy hair begins first with passion for healthy people. Carmen comes to us from the neighboring eastside sola salons. With 11 years in the industry Carmens specialties include a sharp silk press, loc maintenance, fresh color and curly cuts.
Lydia Bracy
Lydia is a Louisiana native and moved to Pgh in May of 2018. She graduated from Paul Mitchell's Bella Capelli in February of 2020. She started at Chelsea Rae Salon in 2021 and then took some time off to raise her son Bryson. Lydia enjoys cutting and styling curly hair but also loves a good blow out! Her goal is to make clients feel more confident and help them build a healthy relationship with their hair. Lydia brings excitement and energy to the salon, and we are so happy to have her back!
Lenjuan (Lenny) Smith
Lenjuan also known as "Lenny" comes to Chelsea Rae after working 11 years in a Monroeville area salon. Lenny was born and raised in Pittsburgh, and today is a wife and mother of three. She knew at a very young age that she wanted to pursue a career in cosmetology. She has been in the industry since high school, where she attended Forbes road CTC. Lennys specialties include curly cuts, silk presses, two strand twists, braiding, color blocking and loc-retwisting.
Chelsea Rae
Chelsea was raised in the Southside of Pittsburgh. Her first love of basketball took her to Longwood University in Virginia where she was a student athlete, and studied radio broadcasting and journalism. After college Chelsea decided to enroll in cosmetology school, as hair had quickly turned into a hobby of hers during her college years. Chelsea's main goal is not only to provide naturally curly haircare in its simplest form, but also to teach clients that it doesn't have to be complicated.
Shay L’oreal
Shay was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan, where her interest in hair first began. What started as a natural skill developed into a career that has allowed her to work with clients across multiple states, including Michigan, California, Florida, and now Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. With over 11 years of experience behind the chair, Shay specializes in curly hair, healthy hair care, curly cuts, loc maintenance, silk presses, and helping clients better understand their natural texture. Whether she is cutting, styling, shaping curls, or helping someone make a change, Shay aims to help each client leave feeling confident and comfortable with their hair.
